Smell nice, please

Q: Why is a perfume important?

A: In fashion, perfume is considered an essential body accessory for men.

A perfume is known to add an aroma to your personality. It also influences your appearance. A well dressed man, sporting a good perfume, attracts attention from others, notably women.

Q: What fragrance do I wear?

A: Learn to differentiate a man's perfume from that of a woman's. Check the French word, Homme (it is boldly written).

The most common types of men's cologne are those with a woody smell, crisp and musky scents. Very few men's fragrances are floral because it is associated with women's scents. So, it's best you stay away from floral scents.

Q: Do I wear the same type of perfume everyday?

A: No. There are different fragrances for different occasions— milder perfumes for daytime and office environment, heavier scents for evening.

Q: Which perfume stays longer?

A: The amount of fragrance in each perfume differs in quantity and unless one is aware, you may assume that they are all the same. Simply check on the bottles as they are written on them. If 'eau de parfum (EDP),' is written that means it has the highest concentrates and provides a long-lasting fragrance.

Eau de toilette (EDT): This makes for a light scent that doesn't linger as long as the more concentrated version.

Eau de cologne (EDC): Sometimes used interchangeably with the term eau de toilette.

Q: How does a man wear cologne?

The most important rule to keep in mind is not to put on too much fragrance so as not to irritate people around you. Apply your perfume/colognes to your glandular points: the wrists, behind the ears and the neck. These are pulse points which are the centre of blood circulation. The perfume melts easily with your skin oil. If you are not comfortable spraying it on, then, try spraying the cologne in the air above your head and allow it to settle on your hair and shoulders, which makes for a much subtler scent.
